The Damned

The Damned is half in English and half in Spanish horror films. It makes the film just feel awkward and the concept was decent but it just was terrible overall. The plot felt like it was crawling for most of the movie. The character development wasn’t really there. The only thing good about this film was Sophia Myles (Underworld) was in the film. From there the movie was just too gory and there wasn’t enough of a well formed idea to me to care about the story line. If you want a possession movie watch The Rite or The Ring.

Bottom Line (Warning Contains Spoilers)

The biggest issue was the plot of the film. The idea is a curse has been placed on the families of the people who killed a witch when the Spanish came to South America. That sounds awesome but the issue is almost everyone in the film is bad because of certain reasons so why should I care for them. The other major issue is their is a large backdoor to solve all the issues occurring. There are certain people that need to die in order for the curse to be broken. One of them shows up in the house why not just kill the person and let the possessed kill the others there was literally no reason for anybody to die other than sheer stupidity. It isn’t a great movie but if you’re looking for a D rate cursed possession film this is a possible option.
