Shaun Of The Dead

This has to be the greatest zombie comedy ever made. Shaun of the Dead has both low brow humor and subtle British humor. Most comedies fall flat as far as plot goes, but that isn’t the case here. The viewer can’t help but fall in love with main characters. The acting of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost is incredible. Just like Hot Fuzz the two of them play off of each other well and makes the movie even more believable. The soundtrack is brilliant and is weaved into the comedy. I was humming the opening credits song for days. If you’re sick of the stereotypical zombie film this is the film for you. It is a must see and will be a movie that will last.

Bottom Line (Warning Contains Spoilers)

This film is brilliant. Some of my favorite scenes are the ones with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost just because of the great banter they have like dog’s can’t look up or the gun above the bar in the Winchester is real. My absolute favorite one is when they are beating on a zombie as Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now” is absolutely hilarious.  The ending is great where Simon Pegg is still friends with Nick Frost even though he is a zombie was a wonderful touch.
