Let Us Prey

What if you took The Ninth Gate and mixed it with The Traveler? You get something along the lines of Let Us Prey. It is a surreal film to watch since the plot is almost the same as The Traveler because it deals with several slight twists which made the movie interesting. It is really dark and there is a decent amount of blood in the film. If you don’t like a lot of blood in you film I wouldn’t suggest this title. Liam Cunningham is the standout star in the film. His acting is truly terrifying and makes his role believable. I would recommend this movie to those who like a foreign horror film with a twist.

Bottom Line (Warning Contains Spoilers)

At first the concept of the movie was novel and enjoyable. There was a decent plot and investigation into what was happening. Unfortunately the film slowly creeps into a spiral of blood and violence. The devil or 6, played by Liam Cunningham, was unique and cool. The way he used matches to deliver his punishment is unique and a fresh concept to the story line. His low voice and calm demeanor made 6 truly menacing. Douglas Russell played Sgt. MacReady plot line took the movie over the top and made the film to bloody and shock value for my taste. He did do a great job at his part, but the character was really too much. The ending felt like The Ninth Gate which pushed Let Us Prey over a the ledge. It is a decent film, but I won’t be watching it again.
