Jacob’s Ladder

This film is a cult classic and it’s easy to see why. From the start of the film it literally begins to mess with your mind. At which point the entire plot of the film leaves the viewer wondering what is real and what is fake. The acting is great and makes the film even more believable. George Alexander makes an appearance in the film which was a nice surprise to me. I really like movies that make you think and wonder what is real. This is a must see film.

Bottom Line (Warning Contains Spoilers)

The film focuses on three different parts of Jacob’s life the first is his time in Vietnam where he was wounded and doesn’t remember what happens to him. The second is his life with his two kids and wife. One of his kids dies and it has a deep impact on him. The third is him living with one of his post office coworkers after a divorce from his wife. The film weaves in between all of these plots. The problem that Jacob slips in and out of each of these lives. It makes the user wonder which is the real one. However at the end it is shown that Jacob actually dies in Vietnam where he was given a drug called the ladder, hence the movie name. It is a real treat trying to guess what exactly is going on and it is a very deep movie and needs to be seen.
