The years were not exactly kind to this film. “Scary” gargoyles and a cliche plot line sums up this horror flick quite well. The biggest problem for me was that the film was not bad enough to be funny. For the entire length of Gargoyles I was waiting for the film to get better but it really never did. However there are some redeeming features a few plot devices did remind me of classic black and white science fiction films and a little bit of Evil Dead. If you’re looking for a cheesy 80s horror/science fiction fans this might be a good fit for, but I won’t be watching it again any time soon.

Bottom Line (Warning Contains Spoilers)

This film has a little bit of a we know this film is terrible and we don’t care. There are several scenes where it was trying too hard to be serious like the idea that gargoyles are spawning and try to hide and survive underground. Then there is the comedy aspect of the owner of the motel is trying to sleep with one of the main characters is just weird. This weird blending just made the movie drag even though the original plot seemed decent that gargoyles were going to try and make their species survive/take over the world.  The execution was just really poor and makes this a movie a D-rate film.
