The Great Hypnotist

The Great Hypnotist is truly a trip to watch. From start to end the films plot really shines and makes the film worth watching. The depth of character development is remarkable and helps pull the viewer into the story. While it is great to have an amazing plot the special effects helped bridge the line between reality and the characters memory creating a dream like state for the full film. The only draw back of the film is what holds the plot together and that is the biggest twist of…

The Admiral

This Netherland film about one of its greatest naval heroes Michiel de Ruyter is fantastic. Special effects in the film is great and helped immerse me into the movie. The acting was incredible and the plot gave the characters depth. That made every scene in the film exciting. They also paid close attention to the little details like having people in the background using fire to bend the wood for the ship making. The Admiral did a great job keeping me hooked from the dramatic moments to the fast paced…

Let Us Prey

What if you took The Ninth Gate and mixed it with The Traveler? You get something along the lines of Let Us Prey. It is a surreal film to watch since the plot is almost the same as The Traveler because it deals with several slight twists which made the movie interesting. It is really dark and there is a decent amount of blood in the film. If you don’t like a lot of blood in you film I wouldn’t suggest this title. Liam Cunningham is the standout star in…

Wrath Of The Vajra

I found this film because Hastings was closing. It was on sale for 70 cents and didn’t have high expectations for this film, but I picked it up anyway. However the film was surprising good. The action scenes were amazing and it is a great film to just zone out to and be entertained. For someone who doesn’t always watch action movies it is a great change of pace. The most interesting part of the film for me was the actual history behind the plot and what really did happen…

Yojimbo

Yojimbo is one of the great films from director Akira Kurosawa. If you are a fan of westerns then you probably know the remake of this film A Fistful Of Dollars. Kurosawa shows why he influenced so many other directors because every scene in this film a joy to watch and makes the viewer know that they are watching is special. Based in the day of the samurai Yojimbo portrays a drifting samurai and the conflict between two warning factions. The plot blends the perfect amount of drama, action, and…
