Night At The Opera

As a classic film and old time radio show fan normally I don’t listen or watch comedy films. It is simply because most jokes don’t hold up over time. However that was not the case with this Marx brothers movie. Night At The Opera was hilarious with timeless jokes, slap-stick humor, and a good plot. From start to finish I couldn’t stop laughing and honestly haven’t laughed that hard in years. It is easy to see why people love Groucho Marx. His mannerisms and jokes are not based on being…

The Darjeeling Limited

What do you get when you combine Wes Anderson, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, and Jason Schwartzman? A wonderfully comical and bizarre film The Darjeeling Limited. The film has beautiful cinematography not only with balance but as well as background. From start to finish the movie is a trip. The plot interesting and makes the viewer constantly ask what is going on. It flows beautifully with comedy and drama. The comedic parts of the film are incredible and quite memorable. Characters have some of the best depth that I have ever…

While You Were Sleeping

While You Were Sleeping is an interesting film with plenty of hilarious scenes and great acting from Sandra Bullock (and an actually good performance from Bill Pullman). This film is funny from start to finish with several great quotes. Don’t let you think that this film is fully a comedy there are several scenes that build tension and advance the romantic story line of the film. If you are looking for a relaxing cuddle up with your special someone than this film is for you, it is definitely a must…

America’s Sweethearts

This romantic comedy is a classic with a star studded cast. The plot is over the top with truly crazy and unexpected moments from a press release junket for a movie that can restore the careers of two actors. John Cusack plays the perfect mentally unstable actor who is looking to restart his life after a mental breakdown. Julia Roberts is great as the witty and sarcastic assistant to Cathrine Zeta-Jones who is a self-absorbed actresses looking for anyway to advance her career. The man in charge of this three…

Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil

This movie has to be one of the funniest horror comedies ever made. The plot is perfect combining the right amount of terror and hilarity in an original film. The acting is incredible and over the top which adds an endearing quality to Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil. If you have ever seen a psycho killer film then you will know how many cliché things that happen, this film exploits these and the absurdity creating an unique and interesting film. It also shows the side of the country boys who…

Shaun Of The Dead

This has to be the greatest zombie comedy ever made. Shaun of the Dead has both low brow humor and subtle British humor. Most comedies fall flat as far as plot goes, but that isn’t the case here. The viewer can’t help but fall in love with main characters. The acting of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost is incredible. Just like Hot Fuzz the two of them play off of each other well and makes the movie even more believable. The soundtrack is brilliant and is weaved into the comedy….

Wild Hogs

What needs to be said about this movie than it’s really bad. Some of the comedy is okay, but this movie drags on. The plot is just a thin veil for some random comedy scenes. If you are looking for some low brow humor or something to put on and forget it’s on then this is a great movie for that. I honestly will never watch it again and I often forget that it even exists. Bottom Line (Warning Contains Spoilers) Not much of a plot to spoil. Honestly, it’s…

Super Troopers

Stupid, poorly conceived, and weird. All of these words could describe Super Troopers, but don’t let that scare you away from this outright hilarious comedy. This movie is highly quotable and will have you laughing until you can’t breath. To say this film has a plot would almost be doing this film an injustice. It’s almost a montage of comedy skits compiled together. While funny I don’t ever really have the urge to watch Super Troopers again, but the lines and hilarity stick with me. If you’re in the mood…

Spaceballs

For those who don’t know Spaceballs is a spoof of Star Wars. This Mel Brooks film is funny, stupid, and down right absurd. If you are looking for a movie that is completely hilarious from beginning to end this is the film for you. While the special effects are dated they just add to the hilarity of the film. If there is a downside to this flick it’s that it has Bill Pullman as the main character. While his acting isn’t the best, in this film it surprisingly doesn’t take…

Snatch

Snatch is one of the few films that can be watched over and over again and still be just as funny as the first time you saw it. With an incredible cast starring Brad Pitt  and Jason Statham this film pulls the viewer in and never lets go. Guy Ritchie is an great director and knows how to make an enjoyable film. If you want action, comedy, drama, and a great plot then this is the film for you. This movie is a classic and a must own. Bottom Line…
