Invincible Iron Man

I’m a huge fan of Iron Man and was excited to see Iron Man pitted against some new and different villains. However I felt like this wasn’t a great film though because of the plot. While the animation was okay and voice acting was decent the idea of spinning off another Marvel Universe to rehash Iron Man’s origin story was a bit much. Sitting through most of the film seeing how Tony Stark became Iron Man just was painful. There are plenty version of this why not just make the…

It’s A Beautiful Day

From the same person who made World Of Tomorrow It’s A Beautiful Day is quite unique. The film is very stylized and can take the viewer quite a while to get used to. The other issue that this movie has is that it is slow sometimes painfully so. After watching the film the I was left in a very interesting and contemplative mood. The depth and emotions that are produced from watching it are many and complex. It is worth a watch but honestly I’m not going to be watching…

World Of Tommorow

Comically depressing sci-fi is the best way to describe the short World Of Tomorrow. The animation is lack luster on characters but it is a stylistic choice, because the background is elaborate and quite interesting. It is a great juxtaposition and helps even make plot and story line even more heavy. If you want a happy go lucky film about the future of the human race look else where. This film is depressing and deep. It’s well worth a watch if you want something different and tired of the typical…

Meet The Robinsons

After seeing this film and Wall-E it is clear that sci-fi is not the best thing for Disney to make. I understand that the film is meant for kids however the time paradoxes that are created in the movie are truly mind-boggling. That being said there several funny scenes in the film that kind of make up for the bizarre plot. If you’re not a die hard sci-fi fan then this movie is worth a watch. Bottom Line (Warning Contains Spoilers) Honestly this film makes my head hurt. The plot…

Corpse Bride

Are you a fan of Nightmare Before Christmas? If you answered yes then this is the film for you. The claymation is spectacular and mind blowing that this was done frame by frame instead of all computer animated. While the songs aren’t as catchy as Nightmare Before Christmas they still have great melodies. The plot is more morbid and better in my opinion filled with twists and murder. While this movie is not as good as Nightmare Before Christmas, it is better because the film isn’t set around holidays so…

Robin Hood

Well probably not the most “accurate” version of the Robin Hood story, it is one of the best. What I really think makes this great film great is the fact that Roger Miller sings and narrates this film. There is something for everyone in this film. The symbolism in this film is interesting and a joy to watch. If you’re looking for a good family movie you should definitely watch this film. Bottom Line (Warning Contains Spoilers) I love the music in this film it is catchy and fun. The…

Mulan

Mulan is one of the greatest animated films ever made. The plot from start to finish is not only interesting for both adults and kids, but it also has a great message to it. The songs are catchy, fun, and help the flow of the film. I think the most interesting thing about this film is how dark some parts of the story are. While you can expect no real major violence or gore in these films there are several instance of what war is like. To use such a…

Minions

I want to start this review off by saying that I normally don’t enjoy watching children movies, but Minions is one of those exception. From start to end the movie is hilarious, adorable, and can be enjoyed by multiple generations. The great thing about this film is even though the characters are based off of Despicable Me it is a standalone film and doesn’t require the viewer to have seen the previous films. This film surprised me in the fact that it is has high replay value. If you like…

Jungle Book (2016)

In typical Disney fashion they have decided to rehash the same story over again, but this time it’s all CG. The animation is great, but you really don’t expect less at this point from Disney. The tale is a known quantity, however the pacing of the film did seem to have several moments where it stuttered and did not transition smoothly. The music seemed to not help immerse the viewer into the world, instead it made a weird juxtaposition of Western Classical and Dixieland Jazz on top of a film…

Howl’s Moving Castle

Howl’s Moving Castle is wonderful film with brilliant animation. Studio Ghibli does a great job emerging the viewer in the animated world. The music of Joe Hisaishi is elegant, brilliant, and really helps bring a enjoyable auditory experience to the viewer. The plot has great flow and does a good job keeping the movie interesting. This is a film the whole family will enjoy not only is it a must see, but it is a must own. Bottom Line (Warning Contains Spoilers) The film tells the story of Howl a…
